History of the Penguin Paper Plane

The Penguin Paper Plane was invented by John Collins, a paper airplane enthusiast from the United States. Collins was inspired to create the Penguin after seeing a video of a paper airplane that flew over 100 feet. He wanted to create a paper airplane that could fly even further, and after months of experimentation, he came up with the Penguin.

The Penguin Paper Plane made its debut at the 2012 World Paper Airplane Championships, where it won the distance competition. Since then, the Penguin has become one of the most popular paper airplane designs in the world.

Design of the Penguin Paper Plane

The Penguin Paper Plane is a canard design, which means that it has a small wing in front of the main wing. This design gives the Penguin a number of advantages, including:

  • Increased stability
  • Improved glide ratio
  • Greater range

The Penguin Paper Plane is made from a single sheet of paper, and it is very easy to make. The following instructions will show you how to make your own Penguin Paper Plane:

1. Start with a sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper. 2. Fold the paper in half lengthwise. 3. Unfold the paper and fold it in half widthwise. 4. Unfold the paper and fold the top two corners down to the center crease. 5. Fold the bottom two corners up to the center crease. 6. Fold the wings down along the creases that you created in step 4. 7. Fold the nose down along the center crease. 8. Your Penguin Paper Plane is now complete!

How to Fly the Penguin Paper Plane

To fly the Penguin Paper Plane, simply hold it by the nose and launch it with a forward motion. The Penguin will fly straight and level, and it will glide for a long distance.

You can experiment with different launch angles and speeds to see how they affect the flight of the Penguin. You can also try flying the Penguin in different environments, such as indoors or outdoors.

Tips for Flying the Penguin Paper Plane

Here are a few tips for flying the Penguin Paper Plane:

  • Make sure that the paper plane is properly balanced. If the paper plane is not balanced, it will fly erratically.
  • Launch the paper plane with a forward motion. Do not launch the paper plane with a downward motion, as this will cause the paper plane to nosedive.
  • Experiment with different launch angles and speeds. You will find that the Penguin Paper Plane flies best at a launch angle of about 45 degrees and a speed of about 10 mph.
  • Fly the Penguin Paper Plane in a wide open area. This will give the paper plane plenty of room to fly and glide.

The Penguin Paper Plane is a unique and innovative paper airplane design that is fun to make and fly. With its excellent stability, glide ratio, and range, the Penguin is one of the best paper airplane designs in the world.

So what are you waiting for? Grab a sheet of paper and make your own Penguin Paper Plane today!
